Send Outlook email to text message on cell phone.

  1. Make sure you send your email in a plain text format with no attachments.
  2. You will need to know what cell phone provider the other person is using.
    One way you can find out what address to use is by having that person send a text msg to your email account (see example 2 below).
    When it arrives in your inbox you can see the return address.

Example 1 - Send Email from Outlook to Verizon Text Msg Account

Send to Gale Ford cell phone 713-206-9359 Verizon account: 7132069359@vtext.com

Example 2 – Send Text Msg from phone to Email:

  1. Fire up SMS (messages) on your phone
  2. Start New text message.
  3. In the "To" area, enter an email address instead of the cell number you would normally use. Any email address.
  4. Compose your text like normal
  5. Hit Send, and your carrier will automatically convert your text message to an email and deliver it to their inbox.
